Massachusetts Dietetic Association

Mentee Application

The goals of the program are:
To provide guidance from practicing dietetic professionals and from dietetic interns
Assist the student in learning about internship options
To enhance the relationship between MDA and the student
To provide hands on experience in setting professional goals… a lifetime requirement.
To enable students to network for job opportunities.

How do I participate?
College students will be mentees. MDA will match you with a mentor (either a dietetic intern or a professional working in the field of dietetics).

Click on the link to the left for the mentee application to be paired with a mentor. Please email that application to mdamentoring@yahoo.com.

The student must agree to:

Set up one measurable goal that he/she desires to achieve from this relationship.
Be a member of MDA. To join MDA you must join ADA and select MDA as your affiliate .http://www.eatright.org/Public/Careers/94_11598.cfm
Be in the junior or senior level during the year of the mentoring experiences. Graduate students may apply.
Dietetic interns may choose to be mentees and/or mentors (click here for info on being a mentor).
Maintain a professional relationship with the mentor and respect their time constraints. The relationship between student and mentor must remain confidential.
Complete an evaluation form.

Because this is a new program, MDA will be seeking mentors. Therefore students should understand that there might be a delay in a finding suitable mentor.

You must be a MDA/ADA member to take advantage of mentoring magic! Students--Join ADA using this link to find the application: http://www.eatright.org/Public/Careers/94_11598.cfm
